Tubular drag conveyors: cable vs chain systems

Although similar in the functionality for food processors, tubular chain and cable drag conveyors have distinct differences in components and operation. A closer look at these systems will help food manufacturers better understand which system would best support their dry food processing requirements. Tubular drag conveyors are mechanically driven conveyors that drag material along the inside of a tube. They are designed to transfer flowable bulk materials from in-feed points to discharge points through a totally enclosed conduit. Using either a cable or a chain, with close-running discs spaced along its length, the ends of the tubular drag conveyor are connected to each other to form an endless loop, which is pulled by a motor-driven sprocket within an enclosed tube… Continue reading
In comparison to other modes of conveyance, Cablevey stands out for our energy-efficiency. This chart below compares our most commonly used motor, 5HP… compared to other common means of conveying – like chain conveyors – using 2.5x more energy, to the use of pneumatic conveyors often using 10x(!) more power.

Cablevey Conveyors vs. Auger Conveyors

Like Cablevey Conveyors, auger conveyors also reduce noise and enclose materials to keep them safe. Additionally, our conveyors are flexible in installation, gentle on materials, and easy to clean.

Cablevey Conveyors vs. Pneumatic Conveyors

Like Cablevey Conveyors, pneumatic conveyors enclose materials to keep them safe. In addition to enclosed tubing, our conveyors offer gentle handling of materials, reduced energy consumption, flexibility in installation, and wet or dry cleaning options.

Cablevey Conveyors vs. Bucket Conveyors

Like our conveyors, bucket elevator conveyors reduce noise, are energy efficient, and reduce degradation like tube conveyors. Additionally, Cablevey Conveyors offer enclosed tubing to protect materials from loss and contamination, flexible layouts and are easy to sanitize and clean.

Cablevey Conveyors vs. Chain Disc Conveyors

Like our conveyors, chain disc conveyors enclose materials to keep them safe and offer flexible layout and installation options. In addition, Cablevey Conveyors offer gentle material handling, significantly lower energy requirements and ease of cleaning all internal components.
