Position Overview

The position reports immediately to the Warehouse Manager. The Production Supervisor oversees processes,
manufacturing, assembly, and packaging/crating of complete systems, parts orders and supplemental
equipment orders. The supervisor will oversee the assembly, quality, efficiency, safety, and inventory accuracy
in the production area.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Pursues positive working relationships. Responds proactively to performance concerns, discipline, employee complaints, and other employee relations matters.
  • Professionally conducts themselves at all times, leads by example; approaches conflict rationally, and adds positive enthusiasm to the overall work environment.
  • Provides initial and ongoing training to assigned personnel. Ensures training is documented. Provides yearly evaluations for production personnel.
  • Reviews attendance and signs off on absences (excused or unexcused).
  • Ensures employees attend safety training and other necessary company meetings.
  • Posts company notices for those without email access.
  • Ensures the cost-effectiveness of the personnel function, including the control of labor utilization – preventing excess hours, downtime and overtime, and efficient usage of equipment.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work environment. Ensure the department is following all safety regulations including the use of proper Personal Protective Equipment and healthy ergonomics.
  • Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports the company’s Quality/Safety policies and the appropriate regulations for the area.
  • Establish production procedures to achieve a high standard of production, quality, reliability, and safety.
  • Responsible for organizing raw material inventory accurately. Run necessary reports including negative on-hand reports and audit reports for accuracy.
  • Monitor and rotate inventory. Notify purchasing of depleting materials.
  • Receive and prioritize sales orders. Compare job orders and product availability to material reports and create job orders as needed.
  • Quality check built items. Properly identify and tag each item. Create labels for stock items.
  • Fill in production information sheets containing delivery to shipping information and keeps all internal documentation accurate and up to date. Oversees workflow data entry.
  • Maintains various files and records – both computerized and hard copy files as required by policy.
  • Notify maintenance of needed improvements to facilities or equipment, to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Managing the production process, material flows, and space management to maximize utilization of space designated for a specific operational area.
  • Responsible for year-end physical inventory jointly with shipping supervisor.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with MRP and ERP systems, Made2Manage experience a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite required.

Position Title: Product Testing Technician
Department: Engineering & Quality
Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA): Non-Exempt

Position Overview

This position reports immediately to the Product Testing Manager. The Product Testing Technician performs essential functions relating to aiding in testing products, cleaning and sanitizing the test lab, lab maintenance, research, and documentation.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assist in documentation and keeping up-to-date product and project SDS books.
  • Research new material requests and potential hazards
  • Assist in setting up and performing product tests.
  • Assist with sanitation and cleanup of lab and equipment after testing.
  • Assist with material procurement, storage, and disposal
  • Customer and sales data documentation
  • Create procedures/work instructions for testing of products.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for up to 4 hours at a time
  • Report any unsafe conditions or acts to the Supervisor.
  • Ensure that work assignments are performed in accordance with approved plans, schedules, and programs.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Cablevey.
  • Work assignments are carried out to the highest quality level.
  • Perform various other duties and activities as assigned by supervisor

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Must be willing to travel 30-40% of the time including overnight and weekends.
  • Be able to document service process, parts used, and hours worked.
  • Work closely with the Service Manager and others on the team.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with our conveyor systems, and give sound solutions.
  • Manage all onsite installation, repair, and maintenance on conveyor systems.
  • The candidate must be able to input service information, hours worked, and hours traveled into a specific data system.
  • The candidate must be able to show proven mechanical skills.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Work in a productive and efficient manner.
  • Treat all Cablevey information and customer information in a confidential manner
  • Understand and abide by office policies and procedures
  • Maintain and continually improve technical and professional abilities
  • Develop good working relationships with Cablevey employees, representatives, and customers

DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (SolidWorks)
  • Familiarity with Industrial Cleaning Practices
  • Experience in Lab/Food Grade Environment

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to use measurement devices such as tape measures, micrometers, calipers, and scales.
  • Ability to read and understand basic and advanced blueprints and charts.
  • Ability to drive a scissors lift and forklift.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with employees, supervisors, vendors, and customers.
  • Experience/proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Position Title: R&D Laboratory Technician

Position Overview

This position reports immediately to the Research & Development Manager. The R&D Laboratory Technician performs essential functions relating to the management, maintenance, upkeep, organization, cleaning, and testing within the Cablevey Research and Development Laboratory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lab organization, management, and tool crib administration
  • Maintenance and cleaning of R&D Laboratory
  • Assist with prototyping (3D printer, woodworking, welding, and simple machining)
  • Management and maintenance of 3D Printers
    • Manage filament inventory
    • 3D print scheduling
    • Troubleshooting of printing errors
    • Cleaning and repair of printers
  • Assist with experimental testing
  • Occasionally assist with product testing
  • Pick-up/delivery/errands as needed by R&D
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and stand for up to 4 hours at a time
  • Safe operation of scissors lifts and fork trucks

    Position Overview

    Cablevey Conveyors is located in Oskaloosa, IA.  We build agriculture and industrial conveyor systems for customers found across the US and around the world.  Cablevey Conveyors is looking for a person who is a self-starter.   A Service Technician that has mechanical skills, a good driving record.  Someone who would be traveling  40-50% of the time.

    BASIC BACKGROUND

    The person in this role should be adventuresome and must be willing to travel most days.  They must also enjoy solving problems.  We prefer a certificate but understand technical experience can be learned through personal experience.
